Are you ready to try something different this Christmas season?
How about fall-off-the-bone, savory lamb roast?
Don’t worry about getting bogged down by all the fancy recipes that are out there.
All you need is a Lamb Leg Roast, garlic cloves, dried rosemary leaves, salt and pepper and garlic powder.
It can be simple and still so good, here’s how to do it.
-
Thaw Lamb Leg Roast to room temp.
-
Preheat your oven to 325°.
-
Gather 15 to 20 garlic cloves and prep.
-
Use a knife and make incisions all over the roast and stuff a garlic clove in each one.
-
Take garlic powder and salt and pepper and rub all over the roast.
-
Place in your preferred roaster and sprinkle rosemary liberally over the top and around the sides.
-
Roast in the oven for approximately 2.5 hours until internal temp reaches 130° or until it easily picks off the bone.
-
In the last hour, feel free to throw some potatoes and carrots in with the roast.
-
(You can also smear on Dijon mustard with the garlic powder rub, and also thyme, plus, get even more extravagant and pour in some white wine around the sides.)
It’s a great way to make your Christmas meal extra special this year.
Lamb and Christmas
Lamb has been a symbol of peace and purity down through the ages, and a culinary favorite for centuries.
In ancient times it was used for various ceremonies and festivities.
Throughout the Old Testament, sacrificial lambs were slain for the sins of the people of God.
Christmas is all about the story of the beloved Christ-child who came down to be our own sacrificial lamb, giving us the blessing of victory over sin and death, forever.
This Gift is worthy of celebration.
Sometimes the meaning of Christmas can be lost amongst all the hustle and bustle of the festivities.
Eating food that brings our minds to ponder about what our Lord provided for us, is a great way to honor Him.
All of God’s creation can be used to remind us that He is King.
He uses the little things to remind us of His sovereignty.
What is He using to speak to you this Christmas season?
